Hera Beauty… Sparkle, Curl, Wink!

Every now and then we are presented with a unique challenge where we have the opportunity to try something new and exciting… in this case, a Hindu wedding ceremony with both American and Indian influences.

For this ceremony, the color gold was of significance to the bride and her family, so Kat made sure that the color was highly showcased in the makeup pallete and reflected on her skin.  Placing and setting the bridal bindis was a new and very cool experience!

Leena wanted to have a softer, romantic, yet classic look for her hair, and thus, Whitney created a loosely waved bun that worked well with the veil and dress.  Rachel completed the bridal party with styles of their choosing.

Christina’s wedding was quite the commotion!  With much to do and no time to spare, Kat & Rachel were caught up the the whirlwind- Christina was the most high-energy bride we’ve ever had!  With several different look options to choose from, we chose a look that was both classic and elegant for an early evening garden wedding.

A few weeks later, when Christina sent us photos and a link to her wedding website, it looked like everyone had a ton of fun and we’re so glad that we could be a part of her special day!

“Hera Beauty: A+++++

I had a difficult time deciding who to use on hair and makeup. I searched a long time for a perfect match and I am so glad I found them! They were so amazing to work with from the first contact until they left that afternoon. Kat and Rachel did my makeup and hair respectively. I absolutely loved them both! They were sweet, courteous and arrive right on time.

Kat did airbrush makeup, but not just foundation. She did my eyes and blush as well. She mixed the exact colors right there on the spot. She totally understood what I wanted just by me explaining it and it was perfect! Also, I don’t know how she attached my lashes (which were individual), but they stayed on for days afterwards, showers and all. A nice bonus is that she gives you a trial size lipliner, eyeliner and a full size lipstick for touch-ups. I was in love with the finished product and so did DH!

As for my hair, it was absolutely perfect! I had been running late and just got out of the shower when they arrived. Rachel dried my hair, curled it and did the most amazing updo. She was really easy to work with too. At one point my hair was a little too far off to the side for my taste, it was no problem, she took it down and redid it. She just places it before she really sets it in place to make sure you absolutely love it. My hair held beautifully (which it normally does not) and looked fresh all night.

I highly recommend them to anyone for hair and makeup. They really went above and beyond. They put up with my gazillion interruptions and stayed until we left for touch ups. They even helped do the buttons on my dress. I loved working with these girls!” ~Christina

I just wanted to leave a huge thank you for Kat and Whitney! They did a fabulous job with me (the bride) and my two bridesmaids. Whitney was also very sweet and did my nieces’ hair, they are 2 & 3 and not the most cooperative. My wedding pictures came out beautifully as a result (not only of my great photographer) but also largely due to what a wonderful job Kat and Whitney did. In addition to wearing the make-up and hair to my reception, we also went out to a club until 4am and my hair and make-up was still beautiful then. Our client, coming all the way from the East coast, wanted her Valentine’s Day weekend wedding look both elegant and yet simple. After discussing what styles our bride liked, Whitney curled and created a full-bodied, half-up style that complimented her long, shiny hair.
